Days of the Arctic Go International
On 15–28 February the University is hosting the traditional Days of the Arctic. This year the celebrations are to be held not only within the hospitable walls of NArFU but will also extend abroad. The event is co-coordinated by the Russian Arctic National Park.
For the next two weeks NArFU Intellectual Center will become a venue for a diverse programme dedicated to Days of the Arctic, including lectures, workshops on literature, culture, tourism, photography, Arctic-themed quests for schoolchildren and students.
Researchers from the Russian Arctic National Park will tell the audience about the skills and tools necessary for survival in the Arctic and explain how to pack the «Arctic bag».
Together with the Presidential Library NArFU will conduct a series of videoconferences on Arctic development featuring experts. The World Wild Fund will co-coordinate Reindeer Day at the Intellectual Center.
The programme comprises photo exhibitions, book expositions, meetings with artists and journalists working within Arctic-related fields.
For the first time Days of the Arctic will be conducted internationally: Nikolay Danilov, an employee of the Intellectual Center, will be visiting Norwegian libraries and universities with lectures on NArFU, Arctic-themed board game development and Russian Arctic explorations.
